“Right Team Inc” dba Parallax “us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the www.getparallax.com and app.getparallax.com websites (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and your associated rights under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • “Service Service” is the www.getparallax.com and www.parallax-alpha.com websites operated by Right Team Inc
  • “Usage Data” is data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).

Use of Anonymized Data

Once data has been anonymized, it is no longer considered “Personal Data” under GDPR and may be retained indefinitely for business purposes, such as improving our services, analytics, or aggregated reporting. Anonymization includes the removal or transformation of identifiers such as names, email addresses, IP addresses, and any contextual data that could lead to re-identification. We ensure that anonymization is irreversible, in line with applicable regulatory standards.

Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data under GDPR

We process different categories of personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance – where processing is necessary to provide our Services (e.g. account management, Service delivery).
  • Legitimate interests – for business operations such as improving Services, ensuring security, or communicating with users.

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Use of APIs

If you access Parallax Services through a public or private application programming interface (“API”), the following provisions apply in addition to the rest of this Privacy Policy:

  • API access may involve transmission of Personal Data between systems, including third-party systems under your control.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring any third-party application using the API on your behalf handles Personal Data in compliance with all applicable data protection laws and your own privacy obligations.
  • API credentials (such as keys or tokens) must be kept confidential. You are responsible for securing access to these credentials.
  • Parallax reserves the right to monitor API activity for abuse and reserves the right to suspend or terminate access in the event of misuse.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Cookies and Usage Data
  • Usage Data
  • Cookies and tracing data
  • Company/organization name (if provided)

We may use your Personal Data to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by contacting us.

Usage Data

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Automated Data Collection through APIs

Parallax logs metadata from API interactions to ensure performance, security, and support. This data may include:

  • Timestamped API requests
  • IP addresses
  • User agent strings
  • Error response codes
  • Authentication status

This information is used to:

  • Ensure proper functioning and uptime of the API
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and breaches of our Terms of Use
  • Improve technical performance of our services

This data is not used for profiling or behavioral tracking unless explicitly authorized.

Automated Decision Making and Profiling

We do not engage in automated decision-making, including profiling, which produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Tracking & Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and we hold certain information.

Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Other tracking technologies are also used such as beacons, tags and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyse our Service.

Prohibited Data Types

Parallax is not designed to collect or process sensitive personal information subject to specialized data protection regimes. You agree not to submit, upload, or otherwise make available through the Service any sensitive data, including but not limited to: health or medical records, financial account numbers, biometric identifiers, government-issued identification numbers, or data defined as “special categories of data” under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws.

Use of Data

Right Team Inc uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service
  • To notify you about changes to our Service
  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so
  • To provide customer support
  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
  • To monitor the usage of our Service
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues
  • To provide you with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless you have opted not to receive such information

Retention of Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

We retain personal data as follows:

  • Customer account information: Retained for the duration of the customer relationship and for as long thereafter as necessary to fulfill contractual, legal, support, or business operational needs.
  • Unless otherwise required by law or requested by the customer, personal data related to discontinued accounts is anonymized within 90 calendar days of account termination. If a customer explicitly requests data removal, we will anonymize or delete the data within ten (10) business days of the request or account termination, whichever is later.
  • API logs and diagnostic data: up to twelve (12) months unless required longer for security or legal reasons.
  • Marketing data: until opt-out or withdrawal of consent.
  • Cookies and tracking data: according to browser settings or up to twenty-four (24) months.

International Data Transfers

Right Team Inc (dba Parallax) may transfer your personal data to countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States, where data protection laws may not provide the same level of protection as in the EEA.

Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data, as required under Chapter V of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These safeguards include:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): For data transfers to countries without an adequacy decision, we rely on SCCs approved by the European Commission (2021/914/EU), supplemented by technical and organizational measures where necessary.
  • Adequacy Decisions: Where the European Commission has determined that a third country ensures an adequate level of data protection (e.g., the UK, Switzerland), we rely on that adequacy decision.
  • Sub-Processor Agreements: We require all third-party sub-processors involved in cross-border processing to sign data processing agreements that incorporate SCCs or similar contractual obligations.

Supplementary Measures

In accordance with the CJEU Schrems II ruling, where we transfer personal data to third countries not subject to an adequacy decision, we implement additional safeguards, which may include:

  • Data encryption at rest and in transit (AES, TLS)
  • Pseudonymization or anonymization where appropriate
  • Strict access controls and logging
  • Organizational policies and internal audits
  • Minimization of data shared with external providers

Your Rights Concerning International Transfers

You have the right to:

  • Request more information about how your personal data is protected when transferred outside the EEA
  • Obtain a copy of the applicable safeguards (e.g., SCCs) where possible, subject to confidentiality obligations

Disclosure of Data

Business Transaction

If Right Team Inc is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Disclosure for Law Enforcement

Under certain circumstances, Right Team Inc may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Legal Requirements

Right Team Inc may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Sub-processors

We engage trusted third-party service providers (sub-processors) to assist in providing the Service. Sub-processors process personal data only under our instructions and are bound by appropriate data protection agreements.

Service Providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), provide the Service on our behalf, perform Service-related services or assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. We ensure that all Service Providers comply with applicable data protection laws and are bound by data processing agreements.

Analytics

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyse the use of our Service.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualise and personalise the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.
